Developing Your Own Personal Style

Life is too short to blend in - Paris Hilton

Life is too short to not be yourself and the you you want to be…. And this applies to your style too…

This is what I decided to do when I thought about these two statements. I decided to write down what I want my style to be. What I realized is that my style is either very feminine or menswear, or a mix of both. If it doesn’t fall into either of these categories, I realized it’s not really “me.”

I also realized I really want to start wearing more dresses on a daily basis….

But I’m not sure about how I’d feel with all the attention. A dress draws so much attention because women now-a-days seem to only wear them on special occasions.
I bet I’d get the reaction, “So, what’s the occasion?”

I figure I’d just say, “Being a woman. I think it’s cause for celebration.”

What do you think?!

    Midori,

Thanks for posting this article! I have a similar inclination. I want to more dresses, but more people keep saying “What is the occasion?” or “Are you going on a date?” So, I decided that I am going to wear what I want to wear–others be damned.

By the way, I love your site! Please keep it up!

Definitely. I love dresses. I wear them so often I get comments about it sometimes, and I’ve never really come up with anything more than “Oh I just felt like it”. :P
