How to Make Shorts Look Classy and Polished

{Hat from Burlington Coat Factory (men’s department), Altered blazer from Ross?, Mossimo White Tank from Target, City Fit Shorts from J. Crew, BCBG Paris shoes from Value Village Seattle}

Right now I’m soo in love with shorts paired with heels and a blazer. You already know my love affair with fedoras🙂 I made a couple alterations to these pieces. I bought the hat which had a weird plaid print on it and immediately went crazy with my sharpi permanent marker in black. The black blazer had long sleeves at one point, but I’ve always found 3/4 sleeves a bit more flattering, so I cut them off and used what very little sewing skills I have to hem the edges.

And I cannot tell you how madly over the moon in love I am with these shorts and J Crew in general. I’ve tried several tailored shorts and they always bunch up in the front. Very unflattering. I think the magic of these shorts is the side zipper, which I’m now a huge fan of. I guess it’s the secret to “no bunching” in the front! They also sit perfectly below my waist. Yay for J. Crew Outlets! I got this pair for a steal! $29.99 at checkout.

ha! My Michael Jackson pose:)
