*Will this outfit work on your body type? All my outfits emphasize flattering an apple shape -wider shoulders/narrow hips. In this picture I am 5’1″ 143lbs. I am petite and also have a high waist and short torso.
Knee high boots outfit idea: cutting the leg in half works well on an apple shape
Apple shapes have great legs. It’s one of our best physical features. It would seem like wearing leggings would look great for that reason, but what it actually does is makes our legs look longer and leaner. We don’t want that if we are trying to balance out a wider upper half. Making the legs look longer and leaner only makes the upper half look shorter and wider. The simple solution is wearing leggings with knee high boots, especially boots in a contrasting color.
I think the chocolate brown leggings pair well with cognac knee high boots. I bring in a long navy cami and a matching round knit beanie and fitted denim jacket to cinch in the upper half, and I’m out the door. This look is great for fall. I also love a cool dark purple lipstick with navy. Could you see yourself wearing this knee high boots outfit?
Where you can find items similar to what I’m wearing
I prefer a rounded beanie (as opposed to pointy) because it fits better with my wider face/larger head. I also prefer thick knit for the same reason. If you also have a wider face/larger head, the looser the beanie is, the better it will look. Here are some great options:
I like my denim jackets more on the fitted side, so I don’t end up looking boxy. Here are several great options:
I am a big fan of Naturalizer boots. I wear these all day.
And if you’re looking for chocolate high rise (so they don’t fall down all day) leggings, here’s a pair.
Lastly, the cami. I get so much use out of this navy blue cami. It goes with everything! Here’s another similar one with a long length (it covers the bum) and a built in shelf bra.
