In Part I, I showed examples from the runway of Fall Floral looks that featured jewel tones. Part II features the fall floral look of “muddied” floral.  Muddied floral is exactly what it sounds like: floral that looks muddy. Muddied floral prints don’t have borders, the floral just runs into each other. This look may remind you of a watercolor painting of abstract flowers. Some print even has shades of brown that really give the appearance of muddied floral! Another variation of this look is busy, art-inspired floral.

The best example of muddied floral I could find is from the Jovovich-Hawk collection. It actually looks “muddy.” This is probably because it has a swampy green and brown palette.

These next two James Coviello dresses are also muddied floral. Notice how the floral print meshes into one another.

Anna Sui had a similar dress featuring more vibrant colors:

Y & Kei had two muddied floral dresses. This one is so muddy, it’s difficult to even notice the floral in the mix.

These variations definitely remind me of a more watercolor artsy look.

Jonathan Saunders created a dress with several colors in this artistic floral print:

These next two dresses feature the busy, art-inspired floral I mentioned. The look is less “muddy” because the floral print has distinctive borders. This first one is from Dennis Basso’s collection.

It’s almost as if Dennis Basso and Erin Fetherston shared a collection! This next one by Erin Fetherston also has art-inspired floral, but her print has less distinctive borders.

And lastly, back to regular muddied floral, I wanted to save the best for last! This one is my favorite designed by Michael Kors. The print colors and the style are beautiful!
