I’m writing this before the long Labor Day weekend, and we have plans to go camping with another family. We are so excited! Something about bringing novelty, adventure, and the outdoors makes me psyched. There’s also a Peruvian restaurant nearby that we’re going to try, and as a foodie, I love discovering new foods I’ve never had before. Have you had Peruvian food? What did you do during the long weekend? Here are some things I’m digging this week:
1. A No Cook Mexican Meal
I’m embarrassed to say this meal makes it in rotation a little too often, but hey! I’m a homeschooling mom of two young boys and also trying to schedule blog post 5 days a week. Cooking is not my fav. But eating is! Have you discovered the gem that is Amy’s canned refried beans????
You don’t have to season them. You just take some out and spread them on a soft tortilla, load it with sharp cheddar- tada! Bean and cheese tacos. I am obsessed with this microwaveable taco warmer too. It keeps tacos warm for so long.
Also, you can spread refried beans on a flat crunchy chalupa taco, add lettuce, tomatoes, shredded sharp cheddar and if you’re feeling fancy, some cilantro. Drizzle with hot sauce, and tada! Chalupa!
If you haven’t noticed, I am really into weird natural remedies. Have you ever tried cupping? It looks sooo soo weird, but it really works! The theory behind cupping is that it pulls older blood to the surface, speeding up the healing process. It’s a go to for my chronic upper back pain. I’ve used it for friends who have overworked and fatigued leg muscles or back pain with great success. I was so obsessed, my best friend got me this cupping set as a wedding gift. It’s amazing! The darker the area turns out, the more you need it in that area. I had a friend who had cupping done after an accident where she got hurt on the right side of her back. When she did the cupping, it was purple on the right and barely showed up on her left. There’s really something to this guys!
3. Dressing Room Ideas
I love my two boys, but boy do I miss having my dressing room. We converted it to their room. Here’s what it used to look like! Maybe there are some cute ideas you could use for a dressing room, and I can live vicariously through you.
If you’re in the market, here are similar items:
4. Unexpected Vibrant Color Pairings
Fall is just around the corner! I’m excited to layer brights on brights, color on color. Who needs a pop of color when you can have two pops?!
5. A Good Aim
I hope you have a great weekend! See you next week.
