Hi everyone! We had hot dogs last night and my husband ate FOUR of them! I haven’t served hot dogs at home in awhile but after seeing everyone enjoy them last night, I thought I need to write about this! Many years ago, before we were even married, we went to a club in downtown Seattle. After we left the club at 2 am (omg life before kids!) we were famished. Thankfully, there was a hot dog stand right outside the club serving “Seattle dogs.” One bite into a Seattle dog and we were hooked. I asked the hot dog vendor what he put in the Seattle dog and wrote it all down so we could recreate it at home. We have been making these Seattle dogs for 11 years now, and it is our go to way to dress up a hot dog! It has everything you could possibly want in a meal- savory, creamy, spicy, and tangy flavors!
Toast a hot dog bun (potato bread is our favorite as it doesn’t fall apart at easily as white bread, sops up all the juices, but also isn’t as big as a hoagie roll)
Grill an uncured hot dog (no cancer causing Nitrates please!) We like Applegate.
Slice onions and pan fry them in a tablespoon of oil (we like avocado oil) to make grilled onions.
Add the following:
canned jalapenos (we like mild)
*Ingredients should be in this order to contain the mess- bread, cream cheese, jalapenos, siracha, mustard, ketchup, hot dog, and topped with grilled onions.
